Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine over a year ago, at least 8,006 civilians, including hundreds of children, have been killed, United Nations officials said those numbers are almost certainly undercounting the dead.
Humanitarian needs are greatest for an estimated 3.4 million people, including 510,000 children, living in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions of the country, where child poverty rates top 65 percent and 57 percent respectively.
100% of your HERO donation will be distributed to the following three organizations currently helping Ukrainians:
UNICEF
UNICEF's emergency response teams and partners are ramping up efforts to deliver safe water to families in communities where water systems are barely functioning. They are providing health care, nutrition, and education support. And they are focusing on protecting children from violence, exploitation, and abuse in the face of increased threats of gender-based violence.
WORLD CENTRAL KITCHEN
Working at a 24-hour pedestrian border crossing in southern Poland, WCK began serving hot, nourishing meals. Now, they've expanded their efforts to serve people across the region in Romania, Moldova, and Hungary. WCK is also partnering with restaurants inside of Ukraine to get hot meals to anyone in need.
UNITED HELP UKRAINE
United Help Ukraine raises money to provide medical supplies for those injured in the war in Ukraine. They have ongoing clothes drives for the families that lost their loved ones because of the war. They ship hundreds of boxes of summer and winter clothes for adults and kids. They help wounded Ukrainian warriors, as well as the families of those wounded and killed in the war.
