TURKEY EARTHQUAKE

H.E.R.O. WILL DONATE 100% OF ALL PROCEEDS TO THE FOLLOWING CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS THAT ARE DOING AMAZING WORK ON THE GROUND

In the early morning hours of February 6, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake in southern Turkey near the Syrian border reduced homes and apartment buildings to rubble. To date, over 46,000 people have died and over six million people are now homeless. Freezing winter temperatures and lack of access to shelter, food, and water is making this humanitarian crisis all-the-more urgent.

The U.N. World Food Programme is the world’s largest humanitarian organization, saving lives in emergencies and using food assistance to build a pathway to peace, stability and prosperity for people recovering from conflict, disasters, and the impact of climate change. For the thousands of people affected by the earthquakes, food is one of the top needs right now and the WFP priority is to get it to the people who need it fast.

UNHCR, otherwise known as the UN Refugee Agency, is working with other UN agencies in Turkey and Syria. They are responding to urgently requested support to both refugees and host communities, including blankets, food packs, kitchen sets, mattresses and tents.
